Hall of Fame Grill - Utah’s Best Burger…At A Golf Course?

It may surprise you to learn that the best burger south, north, east, or west of the point of the mountain does not come from a large chain or gourmet restaurant, but rather from an obscure corner of the clubhouse at Thanksgiving Point Golf Course. Unless you are an avid golfer, chances are you have never heard of or much less tasted the food at Hall of Fame Grill. Let me tell you that regardless of your handicap, you are sure to score a hole in one with the food here.
The grill stays congruent with the peaceful atmosphere of the rest of the clubhouse, with warm wood tones and venetian plaster walls that make you feel like settling in and staying a while. There is not much seating, which doesn’t seem to be a problem since they are rarely at more than half capacity for lunch. This is a bonus, since there isn’t any argument if you choose to flip the big screen TV to college football rather than watch any more golf. With plenty of large windows offering a view of one of Utah’s most sought-after golf courses, you really just feel at home and cozy from the time you sit down until you get up to drag your feet back to the office.
That comfortable feeling is gradually increased as you browse the menu. They have the usual items that can be expected from a smaller grill, including appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and really excellent wraps. The real reason to eat here, however, is the burgers. And not just any burger (even though they are all good), but specifically the Eagle burger. This is a thick, fresh, juicy burger on a toasted and dusted bun, topped with bacon, onion rings, cheese, and raspberry barbecue sauce. This sauce is so good that you will be mopping the drippings off your plate with that last bite of burger, just because you can’t stand to let any of it go to waste. Then you will be wiping up the rest with your last few fries. Really.
What it boils down to: The Eagle burger has my vote for best burger in Utah, although at $8.95 it may seem expensive to some. Take that best burger in Utah and serve it in an atmosphere as inviting as Hall of Fame grill, and you have got a recipe that can’t be beat. The rest of the menu is good; I have never had anything there that I disliked, although it isn’t necessarily mind-altering. Whether you are Mike Weir or Johnny Pencil Pusher, you won’t be let down. (However, it has to be said that the burger does seem to taste a little better after a bucket on the range!)

I’ve eaten at the Hall of Fame Grill a couple of times and it’s definitely not your average burger. Everything that I’ve eaten there is delicious, from the burgers, to the fries, to the Coke, it’s a golfers perfect meal. In my opinion there isn’t much better in life than a round of golf followed by a burger and Coke.
