The Sensuous Sandwich

Dear friends, I want to introduce to you, a long time friend of mine….. The Sensuous Sandwich. While I enjoy many restaurants, and many sandwich shops in this valley, I will state boldy, this is my all time favorite. So the question is why. Why do I love it so? Let me tell you…..
There are two locations for The Sensuous Sandwich, one in Provo, one in Orem. Both locations could easily be considered a “hole in the wall” compared to your average restaurant. The seating is hardly new, the walls sport paint jobs from 20 years ago and are plastered in posters from the 80’s. You may think I’m stating this as a downside to the shop, but I love it! You feel like you just walked into a scene from rocky, It’s old school.
The Menu is perfect, 14 sandwiches. Enough options for everyone, not too many to give you “analysis paralysis”. The bread is more like your homestyle poppyseed hoagie roll. It’s great without being so full that it takes over the sandwich. This may be the only shop around that still understands that people enjoy a sandwich full of meat. The prices are easily the most affordable around town, especially considering how full the sandwich is, and I love that I can order it by the inch! None of this 6″ or 12″ stuff. If you want 4 inches, you got it. You want 8? Sure. How ’bout 10? No problem.
There is really not much else I can say to describe this wonderful sandwich shop. To be honest there is nothing “special” about it. They have all your veggies, meats and cheeses that most deli’s do. It is oddly ordinary, which may be it’s key. It excells in making a great sandwich the way you want it, no gimmicks or special sauces. Just big, cheap, good sandwiches. And if you’re looking for a challenge, try joining the 24″ club. If you can eat a 24″ sandwich in 30 minutes, you get a free T-shirt and most importantly your picture on the wall of fame!
Pros: Cheap food, lots of options, big meat filled sandwiches, good for you, fast service, 2 locations.
Cons: Store may seem old and unkept to the rich at heart, hard to get a seat at the Orem location at lunch time, no skymiles for eating(no amex accepted).
Final Verdict: Simply wonderful, my favorite sandwich in Utah.

Heck ya! This place kicks The Italian Places butt! The Italian Places bread sucks…

Not better than Italian Place in Logan. The Italian Place in Orem is a poor shadow of the best.

It’s really not that great considering the girls who work there are snide and always talk about the most disgusting topics while making your food.

I don’t think it’s the best place to eat. Sure, it’s cheaper by a couple cents but they don’t have combos so it’s about the same price or more expensive if you want chips or a drink.
Besides, their sandwiches get soggy and you get a salad instead of the sandwich.
